Our Connection to Make-A-Wish

King of Swing Charities has a unique and special connection to the Make-A-Wish Chapter here in Houston in that two of the founders of KOS Charities (Joan and Fred) volunteer as “wish granters”. A wish-granter visits the home of the family, meets the wish child and finds what they are truly wishing for.

These children are referred to MAW by a social worker, doctor, friend or family member and vetted by the child’s doctor before being called on. Although many people still believe that all wish children are terminal - that is not true, these are children with ”life-threatening” illnesses who have experienced medical problems with names that are difficult to understand much less experience! The joy that MAW brings into their lives is hard to describe!

With that in mind, we would like to share a couple of our MAW stories with children we have personally helped “get their wish”...
